Nokia Sophie Lens / Sophie Lens HD

Greetings Everyone!

Towards the end of January 2013, Windows Phone store saw a new app, which was erstwhile, known as "Sophie Lens Pro". It didn't made much of a news on its release, until on few updates by the developer, made the app much better and better.

The app, on few updates was renamed to "SophieLens HD" to support the HD picture capturing quality on Nokia Lumia 1520. True to its name, SophieLens has been a popular camera/effects filter app for our Windows Phone for some time and the updated HD version improves upon the original.

 It has a sleek interface and it possesses high resolution support with it. 

The photo overlays allow you to create story boards from your photos to give them a little punch when sharing.  They range from adding photo captions with Wikipedia facts or simply adding a "Nokia World 2013, Wish you were here!" overlay.

With the photo overlays, the app has 8 main categories of filters, including the newly released "Christmas 2013" filters. The Standard Pack, is free for editing while the other filter packs can be obtained by paying the requisite money; but, they are available for free as a preview.

Other than the filter support, being a camera lens app, it also functions as a photo filter app. This is to say, if you have captured a picture from your camera, Nokia Pro Cam, or you have a stock photo in your gallery, you can give it a Sophie Lens filter simply by tapping the 3 dots at the right hand bottom corner of the pic, known as "ellipses" and selecting the "share..." option. You will find an option to edit the pic in Sophie Lens HD, i.e. add filters.

If you want to give another filter to a pic which is already been clicked using Sophie Lens HD lens, you just need to look up the pic in the camera roll, look up for the sign which reads "captured by SophieLens HD". On tapping that line, the app will revert the photo to it's original state (which would have been taken without any filters) and then you can add another filter. Upon saving it, you can find the app in the "Saved Pictures" album. 

The app also allows front camera support and back camera support with a flash option.

All in all, the app is a must have on those devices, who are photo-savvy and who love taking selfies (girls please take note!). It works best on camera giants like Nokia Lumia 1020, the flagship Nokia Lumia 1520 or the low-light master like the Nokia Lumia 925. But, don't worry, it gives a good performance too on budget phones like the Nokia Lumia 620, Nokia Lumia 625 and Nokia Lumia 720 and above.

And as for the me, I've been having this app for months and it serves as an excellent, quick filter edits with one tap filter effects and I recommend the users and the readers to try out this application for once. It will sure find a place on your device and the start screen!
