Nokia Camera : The Ultimate Camera App

With the passage of the Nokia Event in Abu Dhabi this October, Nokia introduced three new devices to the Lumia Family. Along with that, Nokia introduced a new update for its Lumia handsets, the Lumia Black. The Lumia Black update comes in correspondence with the Microsoft GDR 3 (General Distribution Release) update. The GDR 3 update includes many new features Close Apps By Pressing "X" button in the multitasking menu, new storage management etc.

The Lumia Black Update Announcement

The Lumia Black Update (announced 22nd October, 2013) is an exclusive update for all Nokia Lumia Handsets. It features in two new Camera apps : The Nokia Camera and The Nokia Storyteller along-with a new feature called Driving mode and sharing screens app named Nokia Beamer. Lumia Black will be available to all Lumia handsets at the beginning of 2014. The Nokia Storyteller is an app which uses all your photos and creates a timeline on a map, so as to depict a story.

Today we will be talking about the app, Nokia Camera. Nokia released an update called Nokia Amber on September, 2013. Then they had introduced two new Camera apps, the Nokia Smart Cam and the Nokia Pro Cam. The Nokia Smart Cam took several photos at a time and amongst the photos, selected the best shot, action shot, and had the feature of removing unwanted objects from the picture and also change faces to get the best smile. The app is available for all Lumia devices with Amber update.

The Nokia Pro Cam app is exclusive to Pureview handsets only. Nokia Pro Cam allows adjusting the shutter speed, ISO, Exposure value and all other features available in a DSLR camera. It also provides better imaging quality.

In the Abu Dhabi Nokia event, Nokia combined the features of the Nokia Pro Cam app and the Nokia Smart Cam app into one app, the Nokia Camera (Interesting, isn't it?). Nokia Camera app will be available to all Lumia Handsets (Yes, all, even Pro Cam features would run on a non-pureview device). With one swipe, users can access Pro Cam, Smart Cam and capture video all in one app.  Nokia Camera app will be available to all Nokia Lumia handsets after their device is updated with the Lumia Black update.
